In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bon Iver announced the release of a new album, scheduled for release in June. This will be his second album, after 2007’s For Emma, Forever Ago. Justin Vernon, Bon Iver frontman, said that the new album will contain 10 tracks, including “Perth” (which he said sounds like “a Civil War-sounding heavy metal song”, “Minnesota Wisconsin”, and album closer “Beth/Rest”. The official participants in Record Store Day 2011 (which is on April 16 this year) have been announced. The official PDF of participating bands can be found here. Tyler, the Creator, member of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, a west-coast rap collective who have been recently gaining traction in the indie world, has announced the tracklist for his second album entitled Goblin. The tracklist can be viewed over at Pitchfork. In addition, watch Tyler and OFWGKTA member Hodgy Beats freestyle during their time at SXSW.

Speaking of SXSW, the festival recently wrapped for this year. Check out all of the action from new and old bands alike by looking at reports from Stereogum, Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, and Consequence of Sound.

Keep checking WTSR during the week for more updates as well as a look at new music and maybe even some music reviews. Open your mind!
