The debut solo album of Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard has been released today. ‘Former Lives’ is a collection of songs that span the eight years of former places, friends, loves, and lives, that didn’t quite fit the Death Cab or Postal Service style. Check it out here.

“In the Air Tonight” falls into October with two special shows to close out the month. On October 21st, it’s the 2nd annual Homecoming Weekend show, showcasing some of the bands, artists and songs that defined WTSR during the 1980s. Requests are always welcome, especially from those of you that remember the station from this time period.
Then, on October 28th, the 2nd annual Halloween show! This year’s edition will be listener-voted. What musical “costume” would you like your 80’s music dressed up in for the holiday? The choices are: songs from the year 1979, songs from 1990, cover songs done in the 80’s, or more recent covers of 80’s songs. E-mail your preference to airtonightDJ@gmail.com by Thursday, October 25th!
And don’t forget to tune into TCNJ Lions football during Homecoming on October 20th…Pat Lavery will be joining fellow WTSR alumni and current community volunteers Chris Kubak (Striker Bill) and Mike Leatherwood (Mike & Tom Awesome Show) on the call of the game during the third quarter. “In the Air Tonight” can be heard every Sunday night from 9 to 11 p.m. on 91.3 FM…open your mind!

LA-based punk band FIDLAR (stands for “fuck it dog, life’s a risk) have released one of their best tracks yet. A collaboration with British singer Kate Nash (we’re assuming) is one of their most easygoing tracks yet and serves as a perfect encapsulation of high school relationship awkwardness.Their full-length is out on Mom + Pop in January of next year. Though this track won’t appear on the LP, recently released White on White and older cut Cheap Beer will.
