Don’t Sweat the Technique

D-Menace may only be fresh out college, but when it comes to Hip-Hop music, he has the mentality of an old head. When he thinks of rappers, he thinks of Tupac, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube, Wu Tang, Biggie, DMX, Eminem, OutKast, KRS-One, Cypress Hill, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Rakim…the list goes on and on.

Flattop Phil, on the other hand, likes his rap current & fresh and is up to date with all the hottest artists currently taking the world and the charts by storm, such as 21 Savage, Drake, Lil’ Uzi Vert, Migos, Future, A$AP Rocky, and Kendrick Lamar.

This clash of opinions and views is on display every Saturday from 11am to 1pm. Each week’s show contains:

  • A brief ‘New Music’ segment to start off the episode

  • An hour long playlist of classics with a different theme each week related to subgenres, regional scenes, lyrical topics, etc., along with in depth commentary on the artists, songs, and styles

  • And finally, to cap off the show…a discussion/debate segment where D-Menace & Flattop Phil battle it out over everything Hip-Hop as well as touching on current events within Hip-Hop culture.

Tune in each Saturday at 11 and please make sure to OPEN. YOUR. MIND.
